On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin informed the White House that he would not be attending the G8 summit next week. The reason of this cancellation was said to be his obligations in forming a team for his newly inaugurated government, but the message to Washington is unmistakably clear: the further buildup of Ballistic Missile Defense systems in Europe is not an option for Russia.

As Mr. LaRouche said in the discussion with the slate of candidates to be published today, Barack Obama-- as President of the United States of America-- has taken a strategic position against Russia which is so dangerous, that in itself, it constitutes grounds for impeachment.
