March 5, 2009 (LPAC)--Support for Lyndon LaRouche's Homeowner and Bank Protection Act (HBPA) resolution is continuing to expand into new
states and cities. New developments include:

* On March 3 the Toledo City Council voted 8-3 to pass the HBPA. The resolution had been previously introduced, tabled, and reintroduced this winter, as the deepening economic and mortgage crisis motivated the council to send a forceful message to Congress in the form of support for the resolution.

* The North Carolina Senate filed the Homeowner and Bank Protection Act resolution this week, as SB 180, introduced by Sen. Larry Shaw of Fayetteville. Sen. Shaw is a long time Senator, chair of the Transportation Committee, and newly elected Chairman of the Board of the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

* The South Carolina Black Caucus of Municipal Elected Officials officially endorsed the HBPA at their annual meeting in Columbia, SC on February 18. The organization is chaired by Florence Councilman Edward Robinson of Florence. There are over 150 councilmen from around the state who are members, and they released a statement to the legislature endorsing HCR 3403, which itself has garnered 13 co-sponsors.

* LaRouche PAC organizer Jerry Jansing of Louisville, Ky spent March 4 in a day long series of meetings with senators and representatives in Frankfort. He was urging support for HR 40 in the Kentucky legislature, and also enlisting letters into Congress to get the legislation introduced into Washington DC.

* The Homeowner and Bank Protection Act was officially introduced into the Florida legislature this week by Rep. Priscilla Taylor of West Palm Beach. The resolution, HM 913, has 5 co-sponsors and has been referred to the Insurance and Finance Committee.
