LAROUCHEPAC:

Edison Township, New Jersey Unanimously passes a HPBA Resolution
January 25, 2008 • 10:21PM

Last night, the municipal council of Edison Township, NJ unanimously passed a resolution, directed to the US Congress, urging "the United State Congress to institute a moratorium on home mortgage foreclosures and" requesting "the Congress enact homeowner and bank protection legislation." The resolution was introduced by Anthony Massaro, who had, in an earlier council meeting, stated that 25% of property owners in the township were in arrears to the township on tax payments. Edison is a "middle-class" Democratic community. The population of the township, the fifth largest in NJ, is just over 100,000, sits at the crossing of the NJ Turnpike, the Garden State Parkway, and Interstate 287.

There were about 100 people in the audience, mainly firemen and policemen. One month ago when these same individuals came to the city council meeting, they were noticeably cool, many refusing to take literature. This time, they grabbed up the HBPA and LaRouche's statement on hyperinflation, knowing the crisis is here.
