November 27, 2007 • 1:47PM

The cities of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Newark, New Jersey have today passed resolutions in support of Congress passing a Homeowners and Bank Protection Act (HBPA) against the mass home foreclosures crisis. Additionally, letters in support of passage have been sent to the Pennsylvania statehouse in Harrisburg, where hearings on the HR 418, a resolution for the HBPA supported by 45 Pennsylvania legislators, will take place Thursday.

With the addition of these major metropolitan regions, it brings to eleven, the cities in Pennsylvania alone who have either passed resolutions or issued letters in support of its passage. More are pending, but already, Berwick, Canonsburg, Ellwood City, Erie, Johnstown, Monessen, New Castle, Pittsburgh, Scranton, Sunbury, and West Mifflin, have called on Congress for the HBPA.
