At its July 16-19,2012 convention, the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers passed a Resolution to support H.R. 1489, "The Return to Prudent Banking Act," as a means of re-instating Glass-Steagall. The resolution further mandated the forwarding of the resolution and an IFPTE position paper to all members of Congress, including Marcy Kaptur.

The IFPTE, which has been in existence since 1915, represents more than 80,000 men and women in the skilled trades. It is a member of the AFL-CIO and the Canadian Labor Council.
