LAROUCHEPAC:
The Journal of Friendswood, Texas, ran an excellent article September3, on the campaign for the 22nd Congressional District seat, pitting Kesha Rogers against incumbent Republican Pete Olson. The article featured an excellent photograph of Kesha, from her campaign website, and made clear that even Olson concedes that Kesha is tougher on Obama than he is. As the paper noted at the end of the article, the issue of Obama may be the deciding factor on election day in November. The full text of the article follows:
Both Local Congressional Candidates Critical of Obama
When Congressman Pete Olson visited the Friendswood Republican Women meeting last week, he said "Hello" to a lot of supporters, friends and called many of them by name.
One name not mentioned at the meeting; Kesha Rogers, the Democratic candidate for the 22nd Congressional District of Texas. It is the seat Olson now holds.
"I've got an opponent," Olson said. "She won a three-way open primary, which to all of you who follow that, it's a little bit of a warning sign. Shes doing something right because she got that fifty percent that it takes to win a primary."
With a sympathetic audience, Olson (the Republican) also criticized the Democratic President for 20 months of Record breaking spending, record breaking debt and record-breaking intrusion into small business and the lives of American families.
In a phone interview with The Journal, Rogers went further. She said, "I'm willing to call for the President's resignation or impeachment. Anybody who is not willing to do that, and doesn't recognize the threat that this President poses to our nation's existence and the Constitution, is really not fit to run for office, because they are willing to capitulate in a time that our nation is facing bankruptcy."
Rogers also warned current Democratic leadership if they continue to hold onto the coat tail of a President who is absolutely insane. "Every single policy that he has represented has been against the interest of the American people."
When asked if Rogers is tougher on President Obama than he is, Olsen replied, "Some of the literature I've seen might get people to believe that."
Olson predicted a win in November.
"I just have to do what I can control which is the same type campaign we ran in 2008, which is a grassroots campaign, and raise the resources we need. If we do that, we're going to win. I'm not going to worry about where my opponent is on any particular issue. I can't control that."
Rogers said, "I think my chances [of winning] are very great because I'm bringing a solution. This is what people recognize. We're saying if the country is to survive, then Obama must go."
The voters of the 22nd District will have distinct choices to make.
