LAROUCHEPAC:

Democrats Frantic To Distance from Obama and Pelosi
September 1, 2010 • 8:37AM

In the midst of his seventh vacation of the year, President Barack Obama was confronted, during his Martha's Vineyard retreat, by a number of angry Democratic Party fundraisers and old guard leaders, who are frantic about Obama's collapsing approval ratings, and his outright sabotage of any efforts to salvage the November elections from total doom. A series of recent polls, including Gallup and several major news organizations, show that, in just one month, Democrats have slipped 10 points behind Republicans in a generic Congressional poll. As recently as July, they were 6 points ahead in the identical polls—meaning there has been a 16% swing in just one month. The 10 point spread is the largest Republican lead at this point in the campaign, in 68 years.

But, state Democratic officials, some of whom ventured up to Obama's Cape Cod retreat, reported that the actual polling data for local Democrats is far worse than the generic polls suggest. As the result, Democratic incumbents are now campaigning for reelection, by aggressively attacking both President Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Politico today ran an extensive report on a number of these desperate Democrats, citing the case of one Congressman, Bobby Bright (D-Ala.), who has said that Pelosi might just drop dead. He would obviously not shed any tears.

According to one top Democratic Party insider, several pilgrims to Martha's Vineyard, who tried to wake up Obama to the massacre that is coming in November, found him to be "tone deaf" to their pleadings. "The guy has no political instincts or street smarts," one source reported. "He listens to a small insular circle of advisors, led by Summers and Geithner, and he does his own reading, and that's it. He is shut out altogether to any outside suggestions or advice, no matter where it's coming from."

Reportedly, Obama was given pointed warnings that any thought that a Republican majority in Congress will improve his reelection prospects in 2012 was totally insane. He was also warned against plans to slash Social Security.

Another source reported that last Saturday's Glenn Beck rally, attended by an estimated 350,000 people, sent shock waves through the Democratic Party leadership and the "Washington Establishment."

That rally, like the unprecedented poll swings, are both merely symptomatic of the mass strike process sweeping the country.
