LAROUCHEPAC:
The Obama Administration was on a total mobilization on the Sunday talk shows, saying that by next week the Obama deathcare bill will be the law of the land. Axelrod was on ABC's "This Week," NBC's "Meet the Press," and CNN's "State of the Union." Gibbs appeared on "Fox News Sunday" and CBS' "Face the Nation." On "Face the Nation," Senator Lamar Alexander gave the most pointed response, which echoed Lyndon LaRouche's reference during his Saturday Webcast to the Nixon precedent for forcing Obama out. While not calling for Obama's impeachment, Alexander said: "This is the most brazen act of political arrogance that I can remember since the Watergate years. Not in terms of breaking the law, but in terms of thumbing your nose at the American people and say we know you don't want it, but we're going to give it to you anyway."
On CNN's "State of the Union," Axelrod was asked to respond to the article by Patrick Caddell and Doug Schoen that appeared in the Washington Post on Friday, which called Obama's push for his health care bill a March of Folly. Axelrod proceeded to deny the writing on the wall: "Right, and I saw that column and I know those guys, I've known them for years. One of them works for a firm that works for insurance companies. So you know, I—they are entitled to their point of view. I noticed there was virtually no numbers cited in that poll. This was conjecture and speculation on their part. I think they are wrong about that. I think there is ample reason to believe that they are wrong about that."
Meanwhile, Axelrod and other Democrats including Rep. Van Hollen made it clear that the Democrats may attempt to avoid voting on the Senate bill, but instead may pursue the so-called Slaughter solution which is to vote on a procedure that would include the Senate bill. As Rep. Eric Cantor said, this violates Article 1, Section 7, of the U.S. Constitution, which says that in all cases, the votes of both houses shall be determined by yeas and nays.
On "Face the Nation," Sen. Lamar Alexander said House Democrats are being asked by the President to hold hands, jump off a cliff, and hope Harry Reid catches them in the Senate, after the bill is law. All 41 Republican senators have agreed that they were going to enforce the rules of the Senate, which means, for example, that they can only change things that have to do with taxation and the budget.
