LAROUCHEPAC:

NASA Deputy Administrator Garver: Support Our Policy, Or Else...
March 7, 2010 • 10:37AM

Mimicking the style of Obama controllers in the White House, NASA Deputy Administrator Lori Garver, well known for her promotion of "commercial" spaceflight, threatened her Women in Aerospace audience on March 4, that if Congress bucks the President's new plan, it is possible that the small budget increase that the OMB proposes for NASA in future budgets will be rescinded. While she admitted that "Congress will evaluate his proposal," she clearly intimated it is the Executive that is calling the shots. The aerospace community must "come together and work toward a common ground," she stated.

In another of an incredible series of lies that this Administration has mouthed, Garver stated that keeping Constellation on a "reasonable schedule" would cost $5 billion more per year, not the $3 billion the Augustine review panel estimated; and the money is just not there. Bolden and others keep stating that the U.S. could not have the Orion Shuttle replacement flying to the space station until 2020, so there is no rationale for building it, whereas NASA's estimate is, with enough funding, it could fly in 2015.

Garver, who is disliked and distrusted by industry professionals, and even by many Congressman, has no qualifications for her job, and said that Obama wants a space program that is "sustainable and affordable."
