Former Astronaut Attacks Obama's NASA Appointees--We Say Impeach Obama!

Former Space Shuttle astronaut, Charlie Precourt, who is currently ATK's general manager for the Ares-1 rocket (ATK builds the solid rocket boosters), sent out a letter on Feb. 20, urging people to organize to stop the cancellation of Constellation. He describes the "outsourcing" of NASA's manned space program as a "fantasy that remains in our distant future." The cancellation of Constellation, he says, "puts 25,000 high tech jobs on the street."

He continues: "What is most disturbing, however, is the process. Administration political appointees to the NASA agency have disenfranchised the entire leadership team in the agency who are our nation's brain trust on how to execute our space program." (Emphasis in the original.) Precourt is referring to NASA Associate Administrator, Lori Garver, who is a long-time promoter of commercial space. In fact, she is just the poster girl for this policy, which was cooked up by the man-hating OMB/Orszag, with "expert" veneer provided by anti-Science Advisor, John Holdren.

Precourt refers people to websites where they can register to sign a petition to the President, and contact congressional representatives. ATK was doing its lobbying quietly, but is now taking its fight public, according to reports.
