LAROUCHEPAC:
Less than two hours after the polls had closed in Tuesday's Massachusetts special Senatorial election, Democratic Senator Jim Webb (VA) cut through the White House "punditry" by releasing a statement that the special election was, in fact, a referendum on Obamacare in which it had been rejected en masse, and one which had better be respected.
"His action was extremely important," observed Lyndon LaRouche, the leading opponent of Obama's Nazi-modelled healthcare reform policy. "Senator Webb set a tone, given also what he has done in the past and what he represents. He gave the cover for others to state the truth." Webb's background in the Reagan Administration and in the military institution, and his willingness to warn Obama directly and publicly not to violate the U.S. Constitution (as Webb did before the Copenhagen "global warming" conference), gave added weight to his statement.
"In many ways the campaign in Massachusetts became a referendum not only on health care reform, but also on the openness and integrity of our government process," said Webb at 10:00 PM Jan. 19. "It is vital that we restore the respect of the American people in our system of government and in our leaders. To that end, I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated."
Senators Claire McCaskill (D-MO) and Evan Bayh (D-IN) supported Webb's statement publicly Wednesday, with reports that "about 10" backed it implicitly. On the House side, many Representatives followed Webb's lead. Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) told a constituents' meeting that "both versions [of Obamacare], for all intents and purposes, are dead because of Massachusetts.... The public has sent a message." Brad Ellsworth (D-IN) agreed the House could not now accept the Senate healthcare bill, and said he'd vote against it. Rep. Chris Van Hollen said, "Health care was also part of the debate, and the people of Massachusetts were right to be upset about provisions in the Senate bill like the Nebraska purchase and other special deals." Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) warned, "We've abandoned our principles on healthcare, such as expanding Medicare. We've driven away the voters on this.... Congressional leaders are whistling past the graveyard.... Take a step back and say, 'We get the message.' The independent voters don't like it. Take a jobs bill, and add healthcare by expanding Medicare."
'Bail-out Barney' Frank (D-MA), looking at the map of angry independent voters all around him, told The Hill and also, reportedly, constituents who called him today, that Obamacare was finished and he would vote against the Senate bill. "I feel strongly that the Democratic majority in Congress must respect the process and make no effort to bypass the electoral results," said Frank.
LaRouche warned today that Obama will not give up his Nazi-modelled bill, and is already trying to sedate Democratic Congressmen against the voters' mass-strike mandate.
