Ask The Queen: How Cold is Your Palace?

Officially, the direction of history had already turned against the British Royal family by Friday. Actually, it had already happened earlier, but that was not yet registered as official until the developments in Denmark of late Friday and very early Saturday morning. With the weekend's chilling blizzards striking on both sides of the Atlantic shores, one might have sensed that Mother Nature was rubbing it in. "Global Warming" is no more.

The opinion was like that prompted among the audience's reaction to the spectacle of Rumpelstiltskin's ripping himself apart with rage over his own defeat. For many from around our planet, the wonderful hand of divine justice seemed to have struck an icy blow that night, against evil. It all added up to an eerie weekend's turn in current history, but, actually, there had been nothing actually magical about it all.

Dynamics did it all, just as Percy Shelley had written in the closing paragraph of his A Defence of Poetry.

Things were already moving in such a direction, inside the U.S.A., during this recent August, in American citizens' outbursts, in large numbers, against the members of Congress who had been seen has having betrayed them, repeatedly, and increasingly, since September 2007. One could sense the presence of approaching Erinyes in the air.

Since the recent Spring of this passing year there has been a growing sense of fear, approaching a state of terror, among the citizenry of the U.S.A., of the clear threat to the lives of the unprotected coming from the unveiled health-care reforms of the administration of President Barack Obama. It was soon clear, that the fears were not limited to reactions against the whispers concerning the Hitler-like health-care policies coming both from the British Royal family's circles and their U.S. accomplices. In the meantime, the U.S. economy was falling apart, more rapidly with each tick of events in the White House and in the U.S. Congress.

One had a sense of desperately frightened, once-proud Americans trembling in a mixture of fear and rage at every turn of the governmental and Wall Street screws. The citizens were not fighting; they were praying for something good to happen, something to take away the feeling that everything was becoming suddenly worse for some or another group of our citizenry, as with each tick of the clock.

"Make it stop, Mummy; make the pain go away. Please, make the fear go away."

Then, it happened; the bad guys got it, for once -- this time. Suddenly, the nightmare in Copenhagen ceased, almost as if it had never been there. It was not all good; there appeared to be something dreadful coming, amid the footfalls heard upon the snow. "Do you think they are coming back?"

Some people, somewhere, seemed to be thinking, "Take them away, whoever they are."

Suddenly, like a messenger of death, an hysterical President of the United States, seemingly frothing in panic, burst, suddenly, into the room. He came like a ram, but left, like a scared kid from school.

Things are not the same, any more.
