Orszag: `Are We Really Cutting Medical Care? Check!'
November 26, 2009 • 3:51PM

A manic OMB Director Peter Orszag held a press conference call today on "cost containment through healthcare reform," with partner-in-crime Nancy Ann DeParle more or less unable to get a word in edgewise. Orszag was eager to explain that the pending Senate healthcare "reform" legislation hits every mark required to cut, cut, cut delivery and costs of medical care in the United States, treatment by denied treatment, hospital admission by denied hospital admission. And he wanted to trumpet, repeatedly, the "letter of 23 famous economists" which the White House claims has demanded exactly the genocidal cost-cutting which would be legislated by the Senate bill.

In fact, we have no evidence to date that such a letter was signed by those 23 economists. But Orszag insisted that Nobel prize winners had now stamped their approval on his Nazi-like baby, the Medicare Commission created in the Senate bill, modeled on Britain's notorious care-denying National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).

Orszag went over and over the "four pillars" of healthcare cutting he said were demanded by the economists: "deficit neutrality"; an excise tax on relatively generous employer health insurance plans; the Medicare Commission; and healthcare delivery reform. He kept crowing that all four were "check!" in the Senate bill, enthusiastically repeating "check!" a number of times. Thus the Obama White House was going "beyond deficit neutrality," Orszag said, to real long-term cutting down of healthcare spending.

In a new wrinkle on the Obamacare genocidal method, Orszag said that pilot projects in how to cut payments to hospitals, physicians, technicians, etc. would be "continuous feedback and testing for the Medicare Commission"; i.e., as the pilot projects like Accountable Care Organizations found ways to deny payments for treatments, the Medicare Commission would mandate those denials.

The OMB organizers of the call invited only five questions, all by the largest national media—and not one of the press whores even mentioned the murderous Nov. 12 anti-mammogram ruling of the Council on Health Quality board, which would be made mandatory by the powers given to the Orszag's Medicare Commission. That ruling, particularly as it would be followed under powers of the Senate legislation, will cost the early deaths of an estimated 27,000 women each year, to "contain costs"—Hitler's T-4 bureau method.

Only one question even had any "inside-the-beltway" bite. The New York Times asked "Peter" if the White House had yet told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that all four Senate pillars had to be in the final bill or President Obama would veto it. Orszag ducked a direct answer, but made the situation clear by stating that Obama was "confident that the four pillars of cost containment specified by the economists' letter" would be legislated.
