November 7, 2009 (LPAC)—Two Chinese contacts and 6 press participated in a press conference Nov. 5 in Los Angeles held by Phil and Leni Rubinstein, who each made a brief presentation modeled on Lyndon LaRouche's recent speech at the Washington D.C. diplomatic luncheon. The presentations were followed by many serious questions, ranging from the possibility of a four-power alliance, to global bankruptcy reorganization, the depth of the economic breakdown, and Obama's upcoming trip to China.

The main discussion centered on the depth of the crisis, and the possibilities for change that the recent negotiations between Russia and China have created. When at one point pessimism regarding the possibility for the LaRouche Plan to be implemented was expressed, a long-term contact emphatically stated that the Chinese leadership was aware of the depth of the crisis, of the necessity of strengthening the dollar, and of the necessity for in-depth economic development.

Discussing the depth of the economic crisis, one journalist volunteered how 80% of young Chinese, born and raised in the U.S., are returning to Asia because there is no future in America. Another journalist, educated as an economist in China, expressed genuine excitement regarding the solutions presented, saying that these ideas should be presented at conferences in China. Also of note is that the general support that Obama has enjoyed among many Chinese is wearing very thin and disappearing.

Apart from journalists from four different Chinese newspapers, the largest Chinese cable TV network, Phoenix attended and the programming manager told us that they would air a section from the press conference.

Two signatures for the call for the LaRouche Plan:

Mr. Wang Chung,

Executive Director, Institute of Sino Strategic Studies

Dr. Victor Chang,

Secretary General, Oversea Chinese World Conference For Peaceful Reunification of China

And an article on LaRouche's Four Power proposal was posted Oct. 31. on Chinese blogs. This is a short excerpt:

"As you may already know, Mr. LaRouche is convinced that only the four nations of the United States, Russia, China and India have the strength, history, and sense of national identity necessary for effectively throwing off "Globalization" and other such ideologically bankrupt imperial schemes, which have been used to undermine the national sovereignty and economic development of many countries over the last 40 or so years."

In addition,

A translation into Chinese of LaRouche's "A Heartbeat Is Heard In Asia" was received yesterday, translated by the same person who last month translated the entirety of LaRouche's Sept. 8th webcast.
