May 30, 2008 (LPAC)--Only days after his daughter threw a $400,000 London fundraiser for Obama, Rupert Murdoch, the man who would make Josef Goebbels blush, gushed praise over the presidential candidate turned “rock star” at the Wall Street Journal’s D6 (All Things Digital) technology conference. Though stopping short of an official endorsement, Murdoch proudly took credit for The New York Post’s backing Obama in the New York primaries. When asked about personally supporting a candidate, he replied, “I’m not backing anyone, personally. I don’t know. I want to meet with Obama.”
The Obama campaign may want to think carefully about that offer, or any such endorsement from the deep-pouched Kanga-Rupert. For example, why is it that Murdoch, who previously threw his weight behind a presidential bid by New York City’s very own fascist, Michael Bloomberg, has taken such a profound interest in Senator Obama? Furthermore, why is the London propagandist who is orchestrating a reactionary, fascist mob of 18-25 year olds around MySpace so interested in the “rock star”?
Murdoch continued,“I think that you’ve got the making of a complete phenomenon in this country. Politicians are at an all-time low and are despised by 80% of the public—they are just sick to death. And then you've got a candidate trying to put himself out above it all. He's become a rock star. It's fantastic.”
The intention, as has been covered extensively by LPAC, is not to bring Obama into the White House, but to ensure that Hillary Clinton is kept out. When asked why he thinks Hillary is still campaigning, he responded, “Everybody, every one of her friends is saying, ‘For godsake get out.’ Her husband is saying, ‘Stay in there’… and she’s not listening to anyone else.” Everyone is telling Clinton to quit, except, that is, for the lower 80% of the American population who has given her the lead in the popular vote. Obama would never, never give her the number 2 spot. He doesn’t want the Clintons around; he wants a break with the past…I would like a complete break from the past.”
