LaRouche Debunks Bernanke's Stimulus Plan

LaRouche responde a Bernanke: Lo que se necesita no es estimular este sistema sino declararlo en bancarrota

January 17, 2008 (LPAC)--On the same day that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke spoke in favor of the Bush Administration's "economic stimulus" plan, Lyndon LaRouche dismissed the idea as not only foolish, but counterproductive. We don't want to stimulate this system, we want to put it through bankruptcy. We have suffered enough from that sort of stimulation. LaRouche made his comments in an international webcast today, the which is available on this website. Bernanke made his comments before the House Banking Committee, where he recommended a $150 billion stimulus package. Bernanke did not explain how adding more debt to an economy already collapsing under the weight of its debt load, would solve the problem. Wall Street, knowing $150 billion is no where near enough to bail them out, was also unimpressed with Bernanke's plan, and the Dow Jones post-Industrial Average fell over 300 points.
