Pennsylvania: 2 More Cities (28 Total) Pass Homeowner and Bank Protection Act Resolution

January 15, 2008 (LPAC)--The City Councils of Carbondale and Coatesville, Pennsylvania both adopted resolutions Monday night supporting the HBPA and Rep. James' HR 418.

Carbondale is located in northeastern Pennsylvania, in the middle of the anthracite coal area.   The City was home to the famous Delaware and Hudson Rail Co. and is the site of the first underground coal mine in the United States.   Coatesville  is in the southeastern part of the Commonwealth, and was known as the Pittsburgh of the East because of the Lukens Steel Co. located there, which used to employ 10,000 workers.  (Now owned by the ArcelorMittal Steel Group, the company is down to 1000 employees.)

Twenty-eight Pennsylvania municipalities have adopted resolutions of support for the HBPA and HR 418.
