Housing Collapse Daily Morgue

September 25, 2007 (LPAC)--The sound of the housing bubble spewing gas is getting louder every day. Today's stinkers, as reported in the Wall Street Urinal:

* The National Association of Realtors reported that sales of existing homes dropped for the sixth straight month in August, decreasing by 4.3% from July.

* Standard & Poor's S&P/Case-Shiller home price index fell in July, with home prices showing declining growth in 16 of 20 major metropolitan areas.

* Lennar issued its quarterly report for April-June, the first of the major homebuilders, showing a net loss of $3.25 a share (the "street" had predicted a $.55 per share loss), and a 44% decline in revenue. Lennar has cut its workforce by 35%.
