June 27, 2007 (LPAC)--Director of the Serious Fraud Office, Robert Wardle told members of the British Parliament it was "very disappointing" to have had to drop his investigation into BAE Systems arms deal with Saudi Arabia, as ordered last year by Attorney General Lord Goldsmith.
"Has it damaged our reputation for dealing with corruption? I think it probably has," Wardle was quoted as saying by the Guardian, in testifying before the all-party constitutional affairs select committee.
